Gurnoor Patti

Hi everyone! My name is Gurnoor, and I am honored to serve my community as an ASUC Senator for the 26-27 school year.

I’m a junior studying English and Public Policy, hoping to pursue a career in law. My experience as a South Asian immigrant has shaped the way I think about representation: students shouldn’t have to already understand complicated systems or know the right people to have their voices heard. I joined the ASUC to make those systems easier to navigate and bridge access gaps while pushing for broader transparency.

My office focuses on immigrant student advocacy, civic engagement, access to campus resources, and community-building. From connecting students with opportunities across the Bay Area to creating resources around advocacy and protest safety, our work is about making sure students have the support they need to participate in the decisions that affect them.

We want to bring student concerns into the rooms where decisions are made, build stronger connections between students and the resources around them, and create opportunities for students to become advocates.

When not at work, you can find me trying new coffee spots around campus, playing guitar with friends, listening to Olivia Rodrigo, or reading on the glade!
