WHEREAS, Halloween is a holiday celebrated on the night of October 31st; and
WHEREAS, Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, costume parties, haunted houses, and more; and
WHEREAS, many students on the UC Berkeley campus enjoy the Halloween holiday and the festivities that accompany it; and
WHEREAS, one of the main missions of this year’s Senate is to both increase outreach for the ASUC as well as accessibility and transparency for ASUC Senate meetings;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the October 29th meeting of the ASUC Senate be declared the “Halloween Meeting”; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the ASUC requires all ASUC Senators and Executives to come in costume to the Halloween Meeting; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the ASUC highly encourages all ASUC Senators and Executives to bring candy and food for guests and elected officials to “trick-or-treat”; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the ASUC condemn anyone who either votes against this bill or does not participate in the Halloween festivities as “depressing nihilistic party poopers.”
