TOP 3 AAVP PRIORITEES:
1. Enhance Academic Space: I will pursue both short-term and long-term strategies to address the lack of late night study space. In the short-term, I will alleviate the shortage of student space by lobbying to extend the operating hours of campus buildings and cafes along the perimeter of campus. In the long-term, I will ensure that the administration prioritizes our academic space needs, as well as those of future generations of Cal students.
2. Fight for Affordability: It is becoming increasingly difficult for students to finance their extra-curricular interests, and the existing ASUC grants and application process does not cater well to student engagement. I will increase the diversity and accessibility of ASUC grants to aid students in their endeavors. I will also work to make the grant application process more efficient, so more students will be able to receive the necessary funding in a suitable time period.
3. Prioritize Academic Resources: I will work to expand the availability of webcast services and ASUC lecture notes in both lower and upper-division courses in order to supplement information conveyed in class. I will also fight to open up access to impacted classes and majors so that more students have the opportunity to pursue their academic interests.
