Celebrate 'Cal Day' this Saturday, April 17

UC Berkeley's annual "Cal Day" will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, April 17. Events will culminate with a free live concert, featuring Cold War Kids, on Memorial Glade. 

Co-sponsored by the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC), Cal Day features various events which cater to various tastes. Newly admitted students and their families are invited to sessions with campus leaders, transfer admissions and financial preparation workshops, campus and library tours, student-organization mingling, open-houses, and an ASUC government Q&A. Prospective students can also attend major-specific information sessions, including, but not limited to: Earth and Planetary Science, Mathematics, Business, Architecture and Urban Studies.

Kid-friendly events are scheduled throughout the day, with events including a Cal Football Spring Practice tour, a bugs exhibition, various concerts, a dance showcase and a robot obstacle course test.

To end the day, Cold War Kids will play live music at 4 p.m. on Memorial Glade. This event, sponsored by the ASUC celebrates Global Outreach Week, highlighting UC Berkeley's commitment to public service and global awareness.
