Campaign Promises: Students have been shut out of the decision making process for far too long. As EAVP, I will build lasting relationships with city officials so students have power to influence city policy. With my experience working with legislative officials, grassroots organizing, and planning large events I will continue to work with UCSA, USSA and the voter registration coalition to build student power on a statewide level. The Office of the External Affairs Vice President for the 2007 - 2008 year will represent the student body of the University of California, Berkeley on all off campus entities that affect the student life of student on the Berkeley campus. The EAVP office will also work with the state wide UC student coalitions in the state of California. The EAVP office will lobby local, state, and national representatives on all issues that affect student on our campus in order to have a solid unified student voice. The EAVP office compromised of three departments, City, State, and National. Each of these departments will have staff working on advocacy and organizing students on issues tailored to each department.
